INOCHI NO KEIKOKU-SHOKUYOKU is an original artwork by Walasse Ting presenting an orchestra of crickets searching to satiate their hunger. This piece from Ting deviates from his typical palate of neon colours yet fits distinctly in his beautiful body of work.
Walasse Ting was a Chinese-American painter, graphic artist, sculptor and poet. Ting’s unforgettable paintings “fuse dancing brushstrokes with vivacious neon colours. His subjects are joyful: parrots, flowers, cats and beautiful women in bright pinks, oranges, blues and greens," (source Catto Gallery)
Ting is an internationally renowned artist whose work can be found in permanent international collections such as the Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Tate Modern Museum in London, Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Hong Kong Museum of Art.
More of Ting’s works can be found in the Upper Spa and at our sister hotels, Queen’s Landing and Prince of Wales.
