This reproduction portrait of the Duke of Kent was commissioned by Vintage Hotels painted and by a street artist in Paris, France. The original portrait was painted by George Dawe in 1918 and was posed for by Edward, Duke of Kent (1767-1820). That piece hangs in Kensington Palace.
In a description provided by the Royal Trust Collection, “the Duke is shown wearing the uniform of a Field Marshall, with the ribbon of the Garter over the stars of the Garter and the Bath and the cross as Grand Commander of the Order of the Bath.”
Edward, the Duke of Kent was the 4th son of George III and the father of Queen Victoria.
