KING EDWARD VII
by: Street Artist, Paris, France
This reproduction and interpretive portrait of King Edward VII was commissioned by Vintage Hotels and painted by a street artist in Paris, France. The original portrait, a State portrait, was painted by Sir Samuel Luke Fildes between 1901-1902.
The Royal Collection Trust describes this painting in the following manner, “the King stands, an imposing figure, raised on a dais, holding the Sceptre in his right hand; the Imperial State Crown and the Orb rest on a table on the left. He wears Parliamentary Robes over Field-Marshal's uniform, with the sash and badge of the Royal Victorian Order and the Star of the Order of the Garter.”
There were many replicas made of this portrait by Fildes and a team of artists, one in particular hangs in the National Portrait Gallery in London England.
