GEORGIAN SHORE
by: Bill Franks
Location: Behind Front Desk
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Country: Canada
Georgian Shore is an original piece from Canadian painter, Bill Franks. The piece which sits behind the grand front desk, depicts a shoreline of wind-swept white pines, an emblem of Canada’s Georgian Bay.
According to Franks’ website his, “painting experience has taken him from one coast of Canada to the other, he strives to present the rhythm, pattern, design and colour of the changing landscape of Canada.”
“He started his painting career as a boy rowing A.Y. Jackson (a member of the Group of Seven) around the waters of Georgian Bay. He was influenced by Jackson and started an oil painting career “en plein air”. Jackson taught him how to make a sketch box and introduced him to the basics of colour.”
