Madame Butterfly is an original painting from Canadian artist, Gerda Marschall. Commissioned specifically for the hotel, Madame Butterfly carries the theme of a garden in bloom throughout Tiara Restaurant.

“Marschall’s compositions are motivated by colour, nature, and creativity. Ardent brushstrokes give her paintings an impetuous aura. Energetic bursts of pigment and bold strokes reflect her abundant energy and zest for life. Her oil paintings are a hymn of beauty and joy.”

She lives and paints in Eastern Ontario on the Ottawa River. Gardening and enjoyment of nature have been a life long passion and her enthusiastic transfer of this passion to canvas started in 1984. Her studio is surrounded by trees and gardens, and with a view of the Ottawa River, providing endless inspiration.
