The School House by Canadian artist A.J. Casson depicts a wintry scene outside of a school house in North York.

Casson is best known for his depictions of landscapes, forests and farms of southern Ontario, and for being the youngest member of the Group of Seven. His art distills Ontario's farmland and forests into highly finished, carefully composed designs, with a stillness that sometimes seems ominous. (Source, Group of Seven).

In 1979, Casson was made an Officer of the Order of Canada.
