In, Ting's Muse; The History of Walasse Ting from Gallereaese, Ting’s work is described as such:
“Freshness, vitality and brilliant colours characterise Walasse Ting's depictions of flowers, birds and animals executed in a powerful and highly individualistic style. His seductive, magical world is one of sensory pleasure, appealing to all those who share his passion for the beauty of the natural world.”
Walasse Ting was a Chinese-American painter, graphic artist, sculptor and poet. Ting’s unforgettable paintings “fuse dancing brushstrokes with vivacious neon colours. His subjects are joyful: parrots, flowers, cats and beautiful women in bright pinks, oranges, blues and greens,” as described by the Catto Gallery.
Ting is an internationally renowned artist whose work can be found in permanent international collections such as the Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Tate Modern Museum in London, Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Hong Kong Museum of Art.
More of Ting’s works can be found in the Lobby and at our sister hotels, Queen’s Landing and Prince of Wales.
