NORTH SHORE FROM SCHOONER COVE, PACIFIC RIM NATIONAL PARK
by: Daniel J. Izzard
North Shore from Schooner Cove, Pacific Rim National Park is an original artwork from British/Canadian artist, Daniel J. Izzard. British Columbia was one of Izzard’s inspirations and here he interprets the landscape of the infamous Schooner Cove in Tofino’s Pacific Rim National Park.
This scene is accessed by a 16 km hike along the Schooner Cove Trail where you’ll meander a wooden boardwalk surrounded by cedars, moss and dense foliage. The boardwalk leads to the Norther tip of sandy Long Beach where you’ll view the Pacific Ocean with the mountains in the distance.
Izzard was British born and moved to Canada after finding inspiration in ‘British Columbia’s natural beauty’. His inspiration was found on solo canoes trips in remote areas of Canada as well as from his trips abroad. He is regarded as a master impressionist painter and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Federation of Canadian Artists in 2006.
