This reproduction and interpretive portrait of Victoria, Princess Royal was commissioned by Vintage Hotels and painted by a street artist in Paris, France. The original portrait was painted by Franz Xaver Winterhalter in 1857 and now hangs in the Vestibule at Buckingham Palace. Victoria later became the Empress Frederick of Germany.
As described by the Royal Collection Trust, “Princess Victoria, Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, wears the badge of the Order of Victoria and a prominently displayed ring on her left hand, alluding to her engagement to Prince Frederick William of Prussia, whose portrait Winterhalter painted at the same time (Schloss Friedrichshof). She was 17 years old.”
