LILAC DELL

by: David Arathoon

Lilac Dell is an original painting from David Arathoon. The painting captures the landscape of one of the largest and most diverse lilac collections in the world, located at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton, Ontario. May marks the yearly start of lilac season and the exhibit of lilacs in the Lilac Dell.

David Arathoon is a Canadian artist who’s received national success with his colourful and exuberant paintings. Arathoon often travels around Ontario to find beautiful subject matters and landscapes to paint.

A quote from the artist: “My favorite seasons to paint are spring and autumn. In the spring soft colors emerge in the leaves and grasses, and there are blossoms on the trees. In autumn, we get a vast range of colors in the changing leaves, combined with the evergreens, it is spectacular to see and paint.”
