Aftermath by A.J. Casson depicts the calm waters and scenery of a Northern Lake in Ontario after a storm. Notice how the water beautifully reflects the earths scenery.
Casson is best known for his depictions of landscapes, forests and farms of southern Ontario, and for being the youngest member of the Group of Seven. His art distills Ontario's farmland and forests into highly finished, carefully composed designs, with a stillness that sometimes seems ominous. (Source, Group of Seven).
In 1979, Casson was made an Officer of the Order of Canada.
