SEVEN PARROTS

Seven Parrots joyfully depicts one of artist Walasse Ting’s favourite subjects, parrots. As you take in this painting you may too wonder where the mysterious seventh parrot is.

Walasse Ting was a Chinese-American painter, graphic artist, sculptor and poet. Ting’s unforgettable paintings “fuse dancing brushstrokes with vivacious neon colours. His subjects are joyful: parrots, flowers, cats and beautiful women in bright pinks, oranges, blues and greens.” (Source: Catto Gallery)

Ting is an internationally renowned artist whose work can be found in permanent international collections such as the Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Tate Modern Museum in London, Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Hong Kong Museum of Art.
